News - Erik Huizer, CTO SURFnet, is the new interim CEO of GÉANT, the pan-European research and education network, with immediate effect. As the result of this appointment, Huizer will temporarily suspend his activities at SURFnet. Once GÉANT has recruited a new permanent CEO, Huizer will resume his position as CTO at SURFnet.

News - On Thursday, 24 November at 5 PM the first annual Marianne van den Boomen Lecture will be held at Utrecht University. This lecture series is dedicated to the memory of Marianne van den Boomen (1955-2014), a Dutch internet pioneer who wrote on information technologies from as early as 1984. News - In the coming months, SURFnet is set to sign contracts with 8 providers that will provide Dutch education and research institutions with affordable and secure IaaS cloud services. Following a major pan-European tender, Dutch institutions can use IaaS services through SURFnet for the next 4 years without needing to issue their own calls for tenders.
