Research support in the picture

Many institutions are involved in research support: they want to support their researchers in their access to high-quality IT infrastructure in order to process, analyze, visualize, manage and store research data. Each institution does this in its own way. SURF presented a series on how institutions organize their research support and their agenda for the future. The 4 institutions that participated in the research for this follow-up report are: Eindhoven University of Technology, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, VU University Medical Centre, University of Groningen and University Medical Centre Groningen. This report contains a summary of all participating institutions.

Meeting the research needs of institutions

This report follows Research Support in the Netherlands: Current Situation published in 2016. This follow-up report compiles all chapters published in the period 2017-2018 in the SURF Knowledge base. This report is based on SURF's Support4research innovation project. This project aims to ensure that the services provided by SURF to researchers better meet the needs of the institutions and researchers. This SURF report shows how institutions organize their research support and which in-house and third-party services they offer in this respect.
