Control your data

Yoda is an application that supports organisations and researchers in realising their data management policies. In Yoda, you can safely store research data, provide it with metadata, use it for analysis, and finally publish and archive it. Yoda offers possibilities for easy collaboration, also with researchers outside your own institution. By hosting Yoda at SURF, you need to build up less knowledge about the technology behind it. In addition, you can make use of SURF's ample possibilities for secure data storage.

Researchers at the VU have recently been able to use Yoda, and already we can hardly handle the demand. That's great because this platform for research data management is more secure and user-friendly than other solutions.

Yoda as national platform for RDM

A group of universities in the Netherlands have joined forces in the Yoda Consortium to develop Yoda into a national infrastructure for FAIR Research Data Management (RDM), an environment in which researchers within and also between universities can collaborate. This consortium will collaborate on the further development of Yoda as an application and on the further development of SURF's service for Yoda hosting.

Additional services

The Yoda hosting service can be extended with:

SRAM module

With this option, your Yoda instance performs authentication and authorisation with SURF Research Access Management (SRAM). This allows researchers and research supporters to arrange user management themselves so that they can collaborate optimally.

Link with data archive

This link allows you to make use of SURF's low-cost tape storage facilities. You can even have data that has not been touched for a longer period of time automatically written to tape.

Backup

To protect against user errors, a backup can be made, from which we can restore data on request.
