Will you join us (again) at this year's Media & Learning conference from 19-21 June in Leuven? This year's theme is Back to the future. What does the future of the media and learning landscape look like with all the new possibilities and technologies? Also join the study tour that SURF is organising on 19 June.

SURF is organising a study trip (light) around this Media & Learning conference on Wednesday afternoon 19 June. You will book the conference, travel and hotel yourself and SURF will arrange visits to interesting talks with a Dutch delegation. You will thus have the opportunity to expand your network and spar with Dutch colleagues during the conference.

The study trip & dinner

On Wednesday afternoon 19 June between 14.00 and 17. 00, we will organise a substantive meeting. In addition to this afternoon programme, you can also join our networking dinner in the evening .

Programme

In the substantive afternoon meeting, we have invited speakers with whom we will discuss the following topics:

Responsible tech with links to XR and AI
A presentation on responsible technology in education. Here you will learn all about how technologies are challenging and changing our collective public values. This topic has high urgency and needs involvement from all participants. We reveal challenges that affect participants up close.

Future campus - futuring session
The Future campus project created four future scenarios for the development of the education campus. In this session, we will explain these scenarios and get to work on them ourselves. What does your campus of the future look like?

SURF dinner

After the substantive afternoon session, it is time for relaxation and networking. We will have dinner together with our delegation. At 19:00, we will start with a guided tour at beer brewery Brauhaus Domus.Afterwards, while enjoying matching beers, we will also have dinner. Cost €40. There is a limited number of places available.

Hotel

We are staying at the Penta hotel. Fine if you book this hotel too, as it will be the base of operations for the Dutch delegation.

Arrange your trip

Make your own travel arrangements. For example, book your train via NS International. From Leuven station, it is a 14-minute walk to the hotel. The Penta hotel has information on "green" transport and they have a parking garage.
