Cloud & edge
We all use the cloud, and the cloud also offers many opportunities for research and education. From distributed computing and storage to enabling "AI at the edge", we explore new cloud technologies, trends, architectures and solutions.

The coolest thing about edge computing is that we have an edge computer in our pocket, which is our smartphone.

Living Lab TU/e platform

In this project, we develop the 'Living Lab TU/e platform', a platform for collecting and using data in the Living Lab TU/e. We pay attention to the controlled and secure use of privacy-sensitive data so that it can be used by researchers.

Why are we doing this project?

Within the Living Lab TU/e, the campus is a testing ground for researchers, where they devise solutions to societal problems and business challenges. Live scenarios are deployed to directly engage users and collect data for analysis. The end goal is a more sustainable and intelligent campus to promote research, innovation and technology testing in a realistic environment.

What are the main activities?

In this project, we want to develop the 'Living Lab TU/e platform', which enables the collection and use of data in the Living Lab TU/e. The platform we develop supports concepts such as building the smart cities of tomorrow. On the platform, new technologies can be developed to the point where they are convenient for commercial partners.

The platform should ensure controlled and secure use of (privacy-sensitive) data - often from sensors in buildings, so that this data can be used by researchers.

Who are we working with?

For this project, we are collaborating with TU/e, but also with TU Delft's Faculty of Architecture.
