SURF and Quanza together more impactful and innovative in network development

To boost the quality of services provided by the SURF network, SURF and network management partner Quanza have extended their collaboration for another four years. To this end, they signed a new network management contract on 8 December. With this renewed collaboration, the management of the SURF network will remain in trusted hands for the coming years.

Intensive collaboration for successful product development

Together, SURF and Quanza fulfil an essential role in the maintenance and further development of network connectivity for the Dutch and global education and research sector. To achieve good new network services, not only SURF's technical and innovative ideas are needed. We involve Quanza's specialist operational knowledge as early as possible in the service development process so that they can test the feasibility of those ideas.

With the extension of this contract, we consolidate the accumulated practical network management knowledge at Quanza and spearhead intensive cooperation for faster and better product development.

Network management role Quanza

As SURF's network management partner, Quanza is responsible for the Network Operations Centre (NOC) and 24x7 monitoring of the network. All network failures are noticed, registered and handled in the NOC. Quanza advises SURF on the optimal planning and takes care of the execution of the work on the SURF network. Quanza's engineers are thus directly involved in all developments on the SURF network.

"We are delighted that SURF has once again chosen Quanza. With this extension, we confirm the strength of our collaboration and shared commitment to over a million students and researchers."
Judith Tolk, Chief Commercial Officer at Quanza
