International connectivity

The SURF network also ensures that institutions are well connected internationally. We cooperate with research and education networks all over the world. Together, we form a network unparalleled in size, speed and reliability.

International hub

SURF's network is connected to the AMS-IX, the Netherlands' largest Internet hub, where all major connections to the United States, among others, come in.

GÉANT: international collaboration

The SURF network does not stand alone. We work in a European context within GÉANT together with other NRENs to create a network that connects all research and education in Europe.

Netherlight: international EVPN connections

With our open network exchange NetherLight, you can easily set up EVPN connection with national or international cooperation partners. Also as a service provider, you can be connected to NetherLight so that your service can be reached with EVPN.
