Parallel Programming with MPI and OpenMP
from 05 FEB 2018 until 07 FEB 2018
This 3-day MPI/OpenMP course aims at giving people with some programming experience an introduction into the parallel programming models MPI and OpenMP.
- 05 Feb 2018
- SURFsara, Amsterdam
- Prior knowledge needed?
It starts on beginners level but also includes advanced features of the current standards. Hands-on sessions (in C and Fortran) will allow users to immediately test and understand the constructs of the Message Passing Interface (MPI) and the shared memory directives of OpenMP. The program will start with OpenMP on the first day, an introduction to MPI on the second day, and the advanced features in MPI-2.0 and MPI-3.0 standard on the third day.
In this course, we will use the training material made by Dr. Rolf Rabenseifner from HLRS. Dr. Rabenseifner is a world-renowned expert in parallel computing and teacher of courses in the areas of parallel programming with the Message Passing Interface (MPI) and shared memory parallelization with OpenMP.
Please bring your own laptop (with an ssh client installed) for the hands-on sessions!
Being familiar with
