SURF Summit 2026

At SURF Summit 2026, we will be celebrating 55 years of SURF. A significant milestone – we’ll tell you more about it during the event. The programme will be particularly festive, featuring an interactive dinner centred on the theme ‘Giving direction to growth’.

Programme: a sneak peek

With two keynote speeches, it promises to be a packed programme.

Jeroen van der Vlugt, CIO at the Ministry of Defence, will share his vision on the Netherlands’ current position in the world in terms of autonomy and innovation. In times of geopolitical tensions, the demand for digital resilience is also rising sharply. We will gain an insight into how the Ministry of Defence deals with challenges relating to ICT, data, cybersecurity and geopolitical circumstances.

Inge Bryan is a leading expert in (digital) security, former CEO of Fox-IT and a board member of various organisations including Datenna, Clingendael, the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and TNO. She works to build cyber security in the public and private sectors and is uniquely placed to guide us through issues surrounding digital security from a governance perspective.

Dinner starts at 6.00 pm. Over dinner, we will delve deeper into the subject; specific case studies on challenges in education and research will be served alongside the three-course meal. We will conclude at 8.00 pm.

About the venue

Leerhotel het Klooster is part of MBO Amersfoort. In a unique way, it bridges the gap between the workplace and the student in training. We will immerse ourselves in a blend of history, hospitality, expertise and inspiration.
