RAiD: all information on research in one place

RAiD is the persistent identifier for your research projects. It serves as the envelope that connects all PID’s related to your project in one place. From funding information to datasets and from research staff to publications.

A RAiD record can contain descriptive metadata about the project and references to other persistent identifiers (PIDs), including: 

  • ORCID iDs for researchers and contributors. 
  • ROR IDs for participating organisations and institutions. 
  • Grant IDs for funding sources and awards; 
  • DOIs for research outputs such as publications, datasets, software, and reports. 
  • Other RAiDs, allowing related projects or subprojects to be linked together.

Information governance and access control

RAiD records preserve provenance information, allowing you to track changes over time and maintain a complete history of your project and its associated information.

You remain in control of your research assets. You decide which information is shared, who can access it, and when. If required, you can keep your RAiD under embargo, ensuring that your project remains private and inaccessible to external users until you choose to disclose it.

RAiD as a record that persists throughout the research lifecycle, with different actors interacting with the system at different stages.
