Secure exchange of education data

SURFeduhub is a platform that enables Dutch educational institutions to share their educational data securely, in line with clear agreements and based on the OEAPI standard. Institutions can easily share details of their courses and timetables with government organisations, educational catalogues and other users.

Advantages

One connection, multiple applications

By connecting to SURFeduhub just once, your institution can make educational data securely available to multiple users, such as eduXchange and RIO. This means you do not need to set up a separate connection for each application.

Widely applicable thanks to open standards

The Open Education API (OEAPI) forms the common language within the SURFeduhub infrastructure. This enables systems from different institutions to exchange data securely and in a standardised manner.

Sharing based on agreements

The provider and recipient of educational data jointly manage their connection and agree on which data is required and available.

What is SURFeduhub?

SURFeduhub enables you to exchange educational data to facilitate student mobility and greater flexibility in education. This includes data on course offerings, timetables and academic progress. SURFeduhub allows you to make this data available across different institutions. SURFeduhub is a central hub that ensures institutions can make their educational data available to various data recipients in a standardised and secure manner.

SURFeduhub thus plays an important role in the future education ecosystem.

Register of Institutions and Study Programmes (RIO)

A key partner working with the SURFeduhub is DUO’s Register of Institutions and Study Programmes (RIO). The SURFeduhub is linked to RIO, enabling your institution to automatically send its educational data to RIO. For higher professional education (HBO) and university education (WO), the SURFeduhub is the designated digital standard channel between institutions and RIO.
