Frequently asked questions SURF Network & Cloud Event

The Network & Cloud Event is a new event from SURF bringing together the well-known Network Day and the Cloud Event. By combining these two events, we offer a powerful programme where networking and cloud professionals come together to share knowledge, get inspired and look ahead to tomorrow's digital infrastructure.

The event is aimed at IT-professionals, network administrators, system architects, cloud experts, policymakers and other interested parties from higher education, mbo, umc's and research institutions affiliated to SURF.

The event will take place on 30 September 2025 at Gooiland, Hilversum.

Participation is free for employees of institutions affiliated to SURF.

Yes, you can. Can you unexpectedly not come after all? Then please cancel via the link in your confirmation e-mail. This way we avoid wasting catering and materials.

The event will physically take place at Gooiland, Hilversum.

Public transport
Gooiland in Hilversum is easily accessible by public transport. Hilversum Centraal NS railway station is just a 5-minute walk from the location. Trains run regularly from Amsterdam, Utrecht and Amersfoort, among other places. Various buses also stop in the immediate vicinity of Gooiland.

Parking
There is no parking on the Gooiland site for visitors. Several (paid) car parks are available in the vicinity, such as:

• Gooiland car park (directly under the venue, limited number of spaces)
• Hilvertshof car park (approx. 7 minutes' walk)
• Q-Park Markt (approx. 10 minutes' walk)

Due to the limited parking options in the centre of Hilversum, we advise travelling by public transport.

Yes, coffee/tea, lunch and drinks will be provided.

Yes, you can specify dietary requirements when you register.

Gooiland is a listed building from the 1930s. This means that some parts of the building are difficult to adapt to modern accessibility requirements. There are some stairs, but at several places a sloping ramp has been installed to make it more accessible.

There is no separate lift for the disabled. However, the main areas on the ground floor are accessible, including the theatre, the Cineac, Joost den Draaier, Mies Bouwman and Hans Idzerda, as well as the catering area.

We will of course be happy to help you make your visit as smooth as possible. Please contact Shannon de la Rie (event manager at Gooiland) in advance at +31 (0) 630118945, so that we can see together what is possible.

This year, for the first time, we are using a new event app called Yellenge. The app contains everything about the programme, speakers and venue.
