From now on up to 250 gigabytes of storage on SURFdrive
09 OCT 2017
SURFdrive users can now store even more files in their accounts. At the request of many, the storage space of SURF’s cloud storage service is expanded today from 100 to 250 gigabytes. The upgrade is free and available immediately.
"Of course, you can never have enough storage space," says William van Santen, product manager of SURFdrive. "We are constantly working to improve the service and make it more attractive. Many users asked us to increase the available space, for example, researchers who wanted to safely store and share all the data of a major research project with their colleagues. Now that their accounts are 2.5 times bigger, this has become even more easy."
The extra space is available immediately. Users and institutions do not need to take any action. There are no costs associated with enlargement.
SURFdrive is the SURF cloud storage service for Dutch education and research, which allows employees, researchers and students to easily save, sync and share files. Data is securely stored on Dutch servers. The service was introduced in 2014. It's been the first time since the launch that the storage space is being expanded.
