Professor Eveline Crone keynote speaker at SURF Research Day 2026

How do young people grow up in a world that is becoming increasingly complex? At SURF Research Day 2026, Eveline Crone, full professor in Developmental Neuroscience in Society at Leiden University, will explore this question in her keynote.

Crone is internationally renowned for her research on adolescent brain development and was awarded the Spinoza Prize in 2017, the highest scientific distinction in the Netherlands. As programme leader of GUTS (Growing Up Together in Society), she collaborates with researchers from 7 universities, united by a shared ambition: to better understand how young people develop within the dynamics of society, technology and science.

By connecting expertise from disciplines ranging from genetics to sociology, GUTS demonstrates how collaboration and research infrastructure enable deeper insights and shared understanding, a strong reflection of the event’s central theme: Connecting Minds.
