ROC Mondriaan: "Our attackers specialise in educational and healthcare institutions"

A week before the kick-off of the academic year 2021-2022, ROC Mondriaan in The Hague is paralysed by a ransomware attack. All systems are disabled. Yet the ROC decides not to pay the demanded ransom of 100 bitcoins (EUR 4 million). Marcel Kropmans (CIO) and Hans Schutte (Member of the Executive Board) share their experiences.
