We all use the cloud, and the cloud also offers many opportunities for research and education. From distributed computing and storage to enabling "AI at the edge", we explore new cloud technologies, trends, architectures and solutions.
Within the Dutch Digital Heritage Network (NDE), many parties collaborate to make digital heritage visible and accessible. To achieve this, the network develops software applications using containers on a Kubernetes infrastructure. The NDE platform was migrated from an American cloud provider to SURF.
Case study
In SURF Research Cloud, thousands of researchers work together. Not all researchers have an institutional account, but with an eduID they can still access SURF Research Cloud quickly and securely. Ivar Janmaat of SURF explains how this works. Together with his team, he developed SURF Research Cloud.
