Workshop Network Function Processing
Date: 07 JUN 2017
The Dataplane Acceleration Developer Day Europe 2017, organised by Open-NFP, will take place on 7 June. The day will be hosted by SURFnet. In a hands-on workshop you will learn to work with P4, a domain-specific language for network protocols. P4 is amongst others ideal for experimentation with new network protocols and for network monitoring.

Dataplane Acceleration Developer Day Europe 2017
Open-NFP is an international organisation that promotes collaboration in the field of Network Function Processing (NFP). Its Dataplane Acceleration Developer Day Europe 2017 will take place on 7 June. The day will be hosted by SURFnet. In a hands-on workshop you will learn step-by-step how to programme a SMART NIC using P4, which will allow you to add new functionality to the network. P4 is a domain-specific language for network protocols. P4 allows you to experiment with new network protocols. P4 also has powerful applications in the field of network monitoring.
The workshop starts with an introduction to P4, followed by a hands-on lab where participants are shown step-by-step how to programme a SMART NIC. The day ends with presentations in which network researchers talk about their work in this field. The full programme can be found here.
Cost and registration
Participation in the workshop costs $100 (with a reduced rate for students of $50). You can register for this workshop via Open-NFP.
The workshop will be delivered in English. Bring your own laptop.
