About the training

In this training course, you will become familiar with the different disciplines involved in setting up, delivering and measuring awareness activities. We will also cover the role and responsibilities of an awareness officer, as well as the key stakeholders within your institution.

Programme

You will start by mapping the current level of your awareness programme within your institution. Based on this, you will define your personal learning objectives: which topics are most relevant to you, and what would you like to take away from the training to apply in practice?

We will then guide you through the different components needed to establish awareness as a process:

  • Risk management and behaviour
  • Programme plan
  • Informing and training
  • Evaluation and reporting

This will be done through practical examples and exercises based on situations within education and research.

At the end of the training, there will be time to reflect on what you have learned in relation to your personal objectives. What did you find valuable, and how will you apply this within your institution?

What will you be able to do after this training?

After completing this training, you will:

  • Be able to apply the PDCA cycle to awareness activities, measure their effectiveness, report on outcomes and implement improvement actions for continuous quality improvement.
  • Understand the tasks associated with the role of an awareness professional and what they are responsible for.
  • Understand which different disciplines are needed to implement awareness in a structured and sustainable way.
