News - The SURFsara national High Performance Computing infrastructure has been successfully moved to our new datacenter. All systems are back online and operating at full capacity. During the next 2 weeks we’ll be doing some final tests, but this will not affect users.

Researchers are using this connection for extra computing capacity.
News - The Netherlands eScience Center has awarded the Young eScientist Award 2016 to Maureen van Eijnatten (25) from VU University Medical Center. The prize aims to stimulate a young scientist demonstrating excellence in eScience: the development or application of digital technology to address scientific challenges.

News - The European Fortissimo 2 project has launched its second call for proposals. Fortissimo 2 is a collaborative project that enables European SMEs to be more competitive globally through the use of simulation services running on high-performance computing cloud infrastructure. SURFsara is a partner and service provider in the Fortissimo projects.

News - For the next two years, the Groningen-based company Bossers & Cnossen will be delivering the computing and storage equipment used by Nikhef, SURFnet and SURFsara, including the necessary licences, (administrator) software, and related maintenance and services.
News - The VU Amsterdam wants to contribute to the academic success of its students to the best of its ability. That is why the online study activities of 400 students taking Statistics 1 in the Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Studies will be researched over the coming months. News - On 28 September, SURFnet and Eurofiber signed a 15-year contract for the supply of managed dark fibre connections. These connections make up a large part of SURFnet's optical fibre network. This basis enables us to continue to provide innovative ICT solutions to meet the demands of education and research.
News - The National Knowledge Network (NKN) in India is now connected to NetherLight, SURFnet's open lightpath exchange. Dutch teaching and research institutions can now exchange data at high speed with more than 1,600 universities and research institutions in India.
