What is Future Campus doing in 2025?

In 2025, SURF continues to shape the Future Campus programme. Through new pilots, publications, and interactive sessions, we support institutions in renewing their campuses – both physical and digital. We build on previous insights, such as the four future scenarios and the fourteen campus innovations, and this year we place extra emphasis on both the technological and educational aspects of innovation.

Together with educational institutions, we are running three pilots on themes such as the connected campus, virtual campus, immersive labs, smart technology, and student well-being. We explore the technological and pedagogical conditions required, and how institutions can be effectively supported in these areas.

We share the results widely: through a national roadshow, an updated toolkit, podcasts, and workshops. Within SURF, we are also organising sessions to examine the impact on our own services.

Future Campus 2025 stands for tangible innovation and long-term vision. Together, we are building an inspiring, flexible, and inclusive learning environment for the future.

Goals

Future Campus focuses on close collaboration with educational institutions and other stakeholders. Together, we are working towards a shared vision of the future, contributing to four central goals:

• Inspiring and encouraging campus development
• Thinking ahead and steering sustainable development
• Strengthening the national knowledge base around campus-related issues
• Connecting to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing
