Contracts and agreements

The contract structure for SURF’s services consists of the following 4 components:

1. Framework agreement for standard SURF services
2. Service package agreement
3. Service agreement
4. Framework agreement for NWO use

The contracts for these 4 components are signed separately.

1. Framework agreement for standard SURF services

The terms and conditions applicable to all SURF services are set out in the framework agreement for SURF services. Upon signing the framework agreement, the general terms and conditions of supply and the supplementary data processor agreements apply to all SURF services.

2. Service package agreement

SURF’s services are grouped into the following packages. Please sign an agreement to access these services.

For members:

• Basic service package
• Sector services package WO
• Sector services package HBO
• Sector services package MBO
• Sector services package UMC
• Sector services package Research

For non-members:

• Basic service package: procurement and digital platforms
• Basic service package: infrastructure

3. Service agreement

There is a separate service agreement for each SURF service. You must sign one for each service you wish to use. Upon signing, the terms and conditions set out in the following specifications for that service will apply:

• Service Specification
• Service Level Specification (SLS)
• Processing Specification
• Service-specific terms and conditions

4. Framework agreement for NWO use

SURF provides access to computing and data services offered to researchers by NWO through the National Computer Systems Computing Time Research Programme. Every institution listed in this research programme must sign the NWO-use framework agreement once. Thereafter, the provision of services for all awarded grants is subject to the terms and conditions agreed in this framework agreement.

The framework agreement for NWO use sets out the general terms and conditions, the annexed data processor agreements and the specifications of the relevant services that form part of the service agreement. In addition, the specific terms and conditions for this framework agreement apply.
