The European Court of Justice has declared the EU-US Privacy Shield invalid. This has major consequences for the use of services by SURF and its members. The EU-US Privacy Shield has been declared invalid. How does an institution go about ensuring that the transfer of data to the US is still sufficiently protected under EU legislation? SURF's Taskforce Beyond Privacy Shield provides assistance in the form of a number of guidelines based on a roadmap drawn up by the European Data Protection Board.
