October is cybersecurity (awareness) month

The whole month of October is dedicated to cybersecurity awareness worldwide. With tips, articles and publications shared by SURF, you can make your institution more resilient against cybercrime. You can also participate in various meetings and webinars on cybersecurity awareness.

Kick-off cybersecurity month: LinkedIn livestream on the Future of cybersecurity in education and research

SURF kicks off cybersecurity month on Thursday 28 September with a LinkedIn livestream on the future of cybersecurity in education and research. There, you can ask all your burning questions live to SURF's security experts. The event will start at 11.30 and last until 12.00.

Security Expertise Centre: all cybersecurity month content and activities in one place

At the SURF Security Expertise Centre you will find all tips, publications, videos and interviews conveniently grouped together under three themes:

  • Awareness and trends
  • Prevention of cybercrime
  • First aid for cybercrime

We supplement the content throughout the month. It is intended for security and privacy specialists who are responsible for security and privacy awareness within their institution.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month is an activity under SURF's Cybersave Yourself service. With Cybersave Yourself (CSY), you can put together a campaign that playfully raises awareness of security and privacy among your staff and students. The campaign consists of a website and an online toolkit with ready-made materials.
